Saul Raskin
Sefer Yetzira and sections from the Zohar, with English translation, and illustrations by Saul Raskin. New York. 1952. 80 pp., 34.5 cm.
The title page is illustrated in orange. There are many strange illustrations, based on kabbalistic concepts, some of them in colour, and drawings of many of the famous kabbalists who lived throughout history. The sections from the Sefer Yetzira are also translated into Yiddish.
Saul Raskin was born in Russia in 1886. In his youth he moved to the United States becoming famous for his many Jewish themed drawings and beautifully illustrated books.
Signed by the author in 1959 in English and Hebrew., with the note ”kvodo maleh olam.”
In excellent condition, with its original restored illustrated dustjacket.
