First edition of this famous siddur, which was subsequently published many times. A prayer book for the entire year: weekdays, Sabbath, festivals and high holidays, with the portions of the Torah read on Shabbat afternoon, Mondays and Thursdays, Chanuka and Chol HaMoed, and with Ethics of Our Fathers. The final section includes laws in English. On pp. 158-159 (and their English translation) appears the prayer “Who gives salvation to kings” in honor of Queen Victoria and her family.

This siddur was subsequntly published several times, preserving the 1864 date of publication, but here is a true copy from the 1864 first edition.

In very good condition and in an original, gilded English leather binding with the name “ELIZABETH ISAACS” embossed.
