Lot 165:
Portrait of George Washington, the first U.S. President, with his farewell address in micrography, executed by Nathaniel Chasin. Washington. Circa 1920. 43 x 28 cm.
A beautiful portrait. The face is painted and the rest is written in micrography with the text of George Washington’s Farewell Address, which was delivered in 1796 and has remained engraved in the hearts of the American people. It has since become tradition for all outgoing presidents to deliver an address upon leaving office. Nathaniel Chasin was an American Jewish artist who specialized in micrographic drawings of Jews and famous Americans.
In excellent condition.
