Embroidered velvet challah cover. [Central Europe]. 1924. 47 x 40 cm.
Dark purple, velvet challah cover, with gold embroidery. Embroidered in the center of the cloth are two large lions holding up the Two Tablets, and above them, a crown. The verse: “Zachor et Yom HaShabbat LeKadsho” and the year: 1924, are also embroidered. The cloth has a fabric lining and fringes.
