Lot 34:
R. Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (the Ramchal)
General principles of the Talmud and the foundations of pilpul, by R. Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (the Ramchal). Minsk, R. Gershon Eliyahu Blanstein. 1836. 40 leaves, 18 cm.
With two title pages. Printed at the end of the book is a chart with the Judeo-German translation of the scholarly terms. The printer writes that the book was only printed once, in Amsterdam, but this is actually
the fourth edition of this work. The printer also includes a list of the writings of the Ramchal, some of them manuscripts that were never printed. This is a rare edition of a book not recorded by Friedberg. There was a small Jewish printing press that operated in Minsk. Only a few books were ever printed there, and this book is one of the last. It is a very nice edition, with wide spacing between the rows, and thick paper. It includes the rare title page which is missing in some copies.
In very good condition and in its original half-leather binding.
Vinograd, Minsk 27.
