In the publisher’s preface, there is an extensive report on his travels as an emissary to foreign countries for the Kollel Chabad organization, and of his meetings with the members of the Sassoon family, which eventually led to the printing of this work. Also in the preface, he extends gratitude to R. Nathan Adler of London [Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom] and to Sir Moses Montefiore. Aside from the large illustrations of the Temple site and another at the end of the book, adorning the volume are many decorative motifs in the Bak Press style.
