Catalogue of books following the Sephardic custom, published by Jos. Schlesinger of Vienna. Vienna. [1920]. [4] pp. 29 cm.
A list of books printed in purple ink, with the price added by hand. It includes prayer books and others that were printed “following the custom practiced in the Eastern countries, in Asia, and in inner and outer west Africa.” Explained in detail on the first page are the conditions for payment and delivery, etc. The list was sent to Jacob R. Solomon in Aden, Yemen! The date as it appears by hand on the first page is June 28, 1920.
The Schlesinger publishing company of Vienna was established in 1860 and operated until the Holocaust. It was one of the largest Jewish publishing companies ever, and published over 500 titles. This catalog is extremely rare.
