This is a deluxe edition of an early book of animal fables, written in Yiddish and first published in Verona in 1595, with dozens of wood engravings. The Verona edition was innovative, both in content and in illustration. The later editions changed the style and illustrations. Of the first edition, relatively few copies remain. In 1984, Dr. Moshe N. Rosenfeld of London printed a limited, numbered facsimile edition of 300, of which ten were printed on lambskin (numbered 1–10), and 20 were printed on deluxe blue paper and numbered 11-30. This copy is numbered 29.
