Silver Torah breastplate. [Circa 1900]. 8 x 12 cm. Weight: 74 gr.
A silver Torah breastplate with a decorated border, with the inscription: “Sefer Aleph” (First Scroll). On days when more than one Torah scroll is read from, this breastplate served as a mark that this was the first scroll to remove from the Holy Ark. The inscription is a lovely work of folk art.
