The Information of Francisco de Faria, presented to the Parliament in London on November 5, 1680. London. 1680. [3], 12 pp., 29 cm.
Francisco de Faria was a Jew, born in America in 1653. Here are two statements that were read before the British parliament, in the wake of the hysteria that shook the British monarchy following the Horris Popish Plot of the Catholics to kill King Charles II. The plot turned out to be a fabrication. The statements date from May 1, 1680 and October 26, 1680, and are printed on official royal press stationery.
The documents are in very good condition and are printed on high-quality paper. This printout appears in C. Roth, Magna Bibliotheca Anglo Judaica, p. 248, no. 1 in the chapter “Trials and Leading Cases. ”
In excellent state of preservation.
