The letter, in his handwriting and with his signature, was written on his personal letterhead in Hebrew and in English. It was sent to the Vaad HaClalli in Jerusalem and deals with a donation and a request to pray on the donor’s behalf.

Silverstein was rabbi in several communities in Poland before emigrating in 1928 to Toronto, where he became one of the heads of the Vaad Harabbonim. In 1928 he emigrated to Israel but returned to Canada two years later. He passed away in Toronto in 1951. Besides Niflaot Tiferet Shlomo he authored other scholarly works on Kodoshim and more.
